Summer in Sorrento~ Second Home

By: Jessica Gustafson

Throughout summer 2 I was able to study abroad in Sorrento, Italy! Sant ‘Anna Institute was very helpful throughout the entire application process which made me look forward to arriving even more. Upon my arrival, Sant ’Anna made my entire stay as enjoyable as possible and was there for any questions I had!

While abroad I took a “Drawing on location” course which really allowed me to fully immerse myself in the town of Sorrento. My professor was very informative and knowledgeable. I always looked forward to going to class because I knew every class would be filled with something new and fun. The town of Sorrento was filled with so much history that I would have never been able to learn about if it wasn’t for the help of my professor.

Sant ‘Anna offered many fun activities that really brought the students and faculty together and by the end of the program, we truly were a family! Sorrento had the best views, amazing food, great people, and I am so happy I chose Sant ‘Anna as my location to study abroad! Sant ‘Anna always made sure that wherever I traveled, like Greece and Barcelona, that I was safe. It made me feel better knowing that they wanted us to be safe while also encouraging us to take advantage of our surroundings and make the most out of it! Sorrento is now a second home and I have made lifelong friends throughout my travels.
