GERMANY
Our last few days abroad were spent in Munich, Germany. We visited the (resistance to Hitler and the Nazi) White Rose museum and the court room in which they were ultimately sentenced to death . We also took a Nazi Third Reich walking tour and visited Dachau concentration camp. Both were somber experiences. Walking through
FRANCE
We explored Normandy and Paris. In Normandy we visited many D- Day beaches, museums and related invasion sites , including Omaha beach, Utah beach , Pointe Du Hoc and the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial. We had a guided walking city tours in Bayeux and in Paris. Of course, in Paris we visited Notre Dame,
DAY TWO
Today our tour guides Sören and Mo drove us to WWI memorials, museums, trenches, bunkers, battlegrounds and other sites. We walked in trenches imagining the experiences the experiences of WWI soldiers. “WORLD WARS AND HOLOCAUST TRIP”(Belgium, France, Germany)
DAY ONE GCU students and faculty arrived at Ypres, Belgium. We were welcomed by our guide, Miranda, an Italian fluent in several languages. Our first stop was the Flanders Field Museum, among the top World War I museums in the world. The museum’s exhibits highlighted the experiences , trauma , and consequences of the war.
And we are off! ✈️🥐🍺🧇
We are on the road to Newark airport ! We are so excited and can not wait to experience our first stop of the trip in Belgium!
