Today was our last full day in Ireland, and what a day that was! We spent the morning with the Mercy Sisters, reflecting on our time and experience at the International House of Mercy. It was so powerful and enlightening to listen to everyone share their devotion to mercy principles, and express their love of Our Lord.
We were all privileged enough to be invited to celebrate mass here at the Chapel, right in the International House of Mercy on Baggot Street! In sharing communion with our fellow Young Mercy Leaders, we were united with Catherine McAuley and the many Saints through the blessing of the Holy Eucharist. It was incredibly moving to be so close in union with the Lord, receiving his mercy in the Blessed Sacrament, especially after spending so much time devoting our efforts towards Mercy during our stay with the Sisters.
After our heartfelt goodbyes with the Sisters, we broke off into a few travel groups. Amy, Avie, Shaanna, and Ashley went to Malahide Castle where they got to explore the castle itself and all the various gardens on site, including a butterfly garden! Paige and Savanna went down to Sandycove where they got to swim along the chilly Irish coast, all while Liam took a relaxing solo trip around Dublin to take in a few more of the city’s wonderful sights. It was an eventful last day to say the least. We could not be more grateful for the Sisters of Mercy, their hospitality, and the abundant, ever present grace of the Lord throughout the entire trip. Dublin will be missed, but we can’t wait to see everyone back at home!
