Today in the Young Mercy Leaders, we learned about the importance of advocacy. A quote was shared by Sister Angela, “The more immune you are to people’s suffering, the more dangerous that is to humanity.” We have to be willing to leave the comfortable place of privilege we live in to show the mercy that was given so graciously to us. We have to learn that we need to live together as one, with the same goal in mind: to make sure the entire world knows the loving mercy of God.
This message highlights the necessity of empathy and action in our lives. It reminds us that ignoring the suffering of others can lead to a loss of our own humanity. We must step out of our comfort zones and use our privileges to extend mercy and compassion to all, regardless of circumstances or background. By doing so, we can collectively work towards a world that embodies the love and unity that God intends for all of us.
