For our first day in Iceland we started off by checking into the hotel and resting after a long flight. We learned about the history of the land as we traveled through bared fields that had the aftermath of a volcano. We stopped at a small village that had the ruins of a viking longhouse that had recently been uncovered. Following that we stopped at an old lighthouse on the shoreline. During the middle of the day we went into a town that had a pool center that is powered by geothermic water, as are all of the others in Iceland. Swimming and recreation is very popular in iceland and is part of the reason why the icelanders are so happy. This pool center also had a finish sauna, a steam room, and a cold plunge. Finally, we ended off with dinner at a local deli that’s served very good fish n chips. Overall a very eventful day that was filled with laughs and fascination.
